3 Things To Talk To A Hotel About When Booking Your Stay

Posted on: 18 December 2020

If you have spent months in your house, distancing yourself from everyone so that everyone can be safe, you may want to have just a few days where you are going to be out of your house and treating yourself and your family. One thing that you can do is to look at hotels near you to see if they have a room that you can rent so that you can have a few days of a change of scenery and some relaxation. Before you do that, you want to check with the hotel about what their current rules are to maintain everyone's health. So, what are some things that you should check with the hotel?

Common Areas

One thing that you need to check with is how the hotel is treating their common areas. That means places like hallways, pools, gyms, restaurants, and other similar places. While the pool might be closed because of pandemic rules, that doesn't mean that everything else is going to be. You will need to know if you need to wear some kind of face-covering while you are outside of your room, if you can schedule time in a gym or business office so that you can do work without other people there, and how often those places are cleaned and disinfected.

Housekeeping

This means any housekeeping staff that may be coming into your room at any point. You will want to know if they are going to be wearing face coverings while they are in your room and what kind of disinfecting procedures they are going to take while they are in your room.

Discounts

The hotel may be offering discounts to try to tempt people to come to stay with them. That's because many hotels have had a hard time during the pandemic because they had to close down for part of the time or there are rules stating how many people they can have stay in their hotel. There are some hotels that offer discounts to local people or people from the state to come to stay. One reason that they may offer a discount to those who live in the state to stay at the hotel is that the state may have quarantine rules about anyone who is coming from out of state.

If you want to get away and maybe make your holiday special, you may want to stay in a hotel for a few days. If you are going to do that, there are some things that you can talk to the hotel about.
