Three Time-Related Issues That Aren't A Concern When You Book A Vacation Rental

Posted on: 6 April 2021

There are a number of reasons that booking a vacation rental for your upcoming trip can be a better choice than choosing a hotel. One thing that might not immediately come to mind is how you won't encounter a handful of time-related issues that are often present at hotels. While you'll need to arrive at your vacation rental to pick up the key at a certain time and leave the property by a certain time at the end of your stay, there are few or no other time-related things to think about. Here are some issues that won't be a factor when you stay at a vacation home.

Meal Hours

At many hotels, you'll find that the dining room serves daily meals around a set schedule. For example, the hotel might serve breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In some cases, eating your meals at these times may be difficult. If you've had a late flight and want to sleep in the next morning, for example, you might not be ready to eat breakfast before breakfast service ends. A big benefit of choosing a vacation rental is that you don't have to worry about meal-related scheduling. Because most vacation rentals have kitchens, you can cook your own food at any time that suits you.

Pool Hours

Many people enjoy swimming when they're on vacation. A daily swim can be an effective way to relax and get some exercise. At hotels, you'll commonly find that swimming pools have set hours. For example, a pool might close for the night at 10 p.m. and not reopen until the following morning. If you enjoy staying up late and favor a nighttime swim, you could find the pool area closed when you arrive. If your vacation rental has a swimming pool, it won't likely have set hours. Instead, you'll be able to swim whenever you want.

Quiet Hours

A lot of hotels have specific quiet hours that their staff members enforce. These times can vary from property to property and may also depend on the day of the week, but guests are expected to keep their TVs and voices low after a certain hour of the evening. Vacation rentals generally don't have quiet hours, and while you'll certainly need to be mindful of your volume if you're in a condo building, this won't be a major issue if you're in a free-standing residence. If you want to watch a movie late at night or have some laughs while playing cards with your family or friends, you can do so without concern.
